Dear MCSC Community Members,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
MCSC Board of Trustees Elections will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Insha’Allah, via direct secret ballot. As the terms of all current members of the Board of Trustees have concluded, the process of electing a new Board to serve and represent the community is underway now.

MCSC Board of Trustees Elections will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Insha’Allah, via direct secret ballot. As the terms of all current members of the Board of Trustees have concluded, the process of electing a new Board to serve and represent the community is underway now.

Election Schedule
- April 18 – May 7, 2026
- Open Nominations Period. All nominations must be submitted to the Election Committee.
- May 25, 2026
- The final list of qualified candidates will be announced to the community.
- June 7, 2026 – General Assembly and Elections
- Elections will be conducted by direct secret ballot at the General Assembly.
- Please note that no absentee, proxy, or substitute ballots will be permitted.
Election Committee:
An Election Committee has been formally constituted to oversee and conduct the election process with impartiality, transparency, and full adherence to the governing rules of MCSC. The following are the designated members of the Election Committee:
- Zenab Butt — Chairperson
- Saima Saleem — Committee Member
- Abdul Rehman Chaudhary — Committee Member
How to Nominate a Candidate:
- Nomination period is now closed. Deadline for Submitting Nominations was Thursday, May 7, 2026
Nominee Requirements:
Candidates for the Board of Trustees must meet the following criteria:
- Be a law-abiding practicing Muslim, 18 years of age or older.
- Concur with and abide by the objectives and mission of MCSC.
- Have not served on the MCSC Board for more than four consecutive years.
- Reject allegiance to any organization whose teachings conflict with Islamic principles.
- Be a resident of Somerset County.
- Maintain lawful and legal presence in the United States.
- Not be under criminal proceedings, convictions, probation, or parole.
- Certify under oath the truthfulness of all claims in the application.
- Be known to be pious, truthful, patient, humble, compassionate, self-restraining, and conscious of Allah (SWT).
- Demonstrate clear devotion to the mission and cause of MCSC.
- Have a fair understanding of the culture and social structure of the United States.
- Be proficient in the English language.
- Be willing to devote at least four (4) hours per month and attend scheduled Board meetings.
- Be a lawful permanent resident or citizen of the United States.
